The Weekly Routine in the School.

Junior infant class Tuesday


2nd to 6th class in St Agnes have a 20 minute theory class on Tuesdays. St Agnes' Parents String Orchestra (which includes adults from the community and grandparents) meet between 11:00 and 12:30. Pupils in 5th and 6th class in St Agnes have lessons in violin, viola, cello and double bass on Tuesday.

St Agnes/Scoil Colm Primary School Orchestra rehearses after school on Tuesdays 2:30-3:30. But the
day is still not over! 

Secondary school pupils have lessons in violin, viola, cello and double bass on Tuesdays from 3:45-6  pm after the orchestra rehearsal. It is often as late as 6 pm when  lessons finish. Even then the lights do not go out In the cookery room on Tuesdays, as the members of St Agnes Musical Society are already drifting in ahead of their rehearsal - to find out  about the Musical Society read more.


Wednesday       

Boys from Scoil Colm come across to St Agnes' Primary School for violin lessons with their class teachers. St Agnes pupils in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th class also have lessons. Scoil Colm boys also take part in St Agnes/Scoil Colm Primary School orchestra and St Agnes' Junior Orchestra.

Morning and yard breaks on Tuesdays and Wednesdays are particularly busy with little rehearsals to fix tricky bars here and there in orchestra music, or to help someone who has been out sick, or a new pupil in the school. After school on Wednesdays the Junior Orchestra rehearses until 3:20. 

Thursday       
This is day for the youngest children. Three Junior Infant classes, three Senior Infant classes come up for lessons.  As the day progresses  it's easy to see how the children are developing musically.

           
In all, more than 400 children week by week have music lessons!
